Although people are busier with their lives these days, my mum is still in touch with her neighbours every day. If anyone needs something urgently—even something as simple as an onion—they don’t have to go to the supermarket; they just call each other and it’s sorted. I left home at 18 and haven’t experienced anything like that anywhere else. So yes, they really are a community.
Amidst all the tragedy and drama, I'm getting a real sense of community.
Thanks Lisa for reading.

What a wonderful thing. It was a bit like that in the village in Sweden where I grew up, but this is something we have lost.
When I was a teenager, I would do anything to stay away from these types of relationships. Now I miss it so much.
Sad story, beautifully written.
